I am in an unwontedly bad mood today. My midterm went ok, I think. My calc test will be worse than I feared. I asked the teacher what the grading scale was and she went "I haven't decided that yet." Ok... it's freaking midterm.

I'm thinking about not going to chem lecture ever again. Studying for the first test I never once looked at my notes, and I did fine. What happens is the prof goes "Yada yada yada. What's the answer to this random question?" The class stares blankly for a while. "We're not moving on until someone tells me the answer." So someone ventures an answer, has to repeat it twice because Dr. Fuchs is deaf, maybe gets it right eventually. "You know what this tells me? You all haven't read the chapter. What's the point of spending $100 on a textbook if you never open it? Everyone in my other class knew the answer, they all read the chapter." The class thinks ...we open it when we study for the test. And that happens every day.

Then we go to lab on Tuesday and Thursday and the TA explains what Dr. Fuchs was trying to say on Monday and Wednesday.

Oh, but in chem today someone's cell phone rang in the middle of class, and their ringer was a rooster crowing. Then they apparently couldn't find it in their bookbag b/c it went on forever and ever...and Dr. Fuchs didn't hear it, so he didn't get why we were all laughing. So that was fun.
