We haven't had a light in our bathroom for like a week, because the bulb burnt out and the fixture was painted onto the ceiling and totally stuck. Our landlord finally sent over a handyman today, and after the handyman left he apparently told the landlord that our carpet is stained. Well, yes it is because the landlord made the brilliant choice to put in LIGHT BEIGE carpet and then rent his house out to groups of 4-5 college kids. Also the plumbing is 60 years old and terrible, the basement floods and is disgusting, there are hardly any outlets anywhere and the ones we have aren't grounded, oh and we had no smoke detectors for about 3 months. But the carpet being stained, omg national emergency.

So I bought an expensive steam cleaner to avoid having to pay to have the carpet replaced. Every other landlord I've had just has the carpet cleaned when the tenants move out and charges $100. And I might be moving after all, when I finally thought that I would go more than 1 year living in the same apt/house.
