I think I've got mono again. I'm always tired (2:02 am notwithstanding) and I've got swollen lymph nodes. If I do have it, it would be the fourth time. I'm used to it by now. The first time was really bad, the second time I hardly noticed, the third time was when I was out of school for a week, but I was probably just being lazy. Although I did have these weird hive things on my chest and back, and the doctor couldn't figure out what they were. Sometimes you can get a rash from mono, or from the medicine for mono, so the doc was all "I'm sure that's what it is, let's take a look... Oh. That's not it." I remember he left the exam room for a really long time, then came back with three med students and was all, "Mind if they take a look at your weird rash no one's ever seen before?" He eventually came up with some bullshit story about a harmless, non-parasitic, non-viral skin affliction that would go away eventually. I should have gotten a second opinion. Or fifth, as it were. Though it did go away. Eventually.

Well. This entry ended up in a different place from where it started out.

I can't afford to make the trip back to SD in May. Man, this semester has been unbelievably expensive.

And I got a B+ on my Shakespeare paper. I'd rather have a B. I hate B+'s. Is a B+ better than a B in the long run? Not terribly. All a B+ says is that I almost had an A but I fucked it up somehow. If I'd gotten a B, I'd be disappointed but not beating myself up.

PS I was getting sick of Shakespeare, but King Lear is amazing. I love it I love it I love it.

Later
I turned on Comedy Central, and there was Lewis Black's classic special from a few years ago.
"I have seen the end of the universe; it's in Houston, Texas. I know, I was shocked, too."
