Peeve #1: It baffles me how a fic can be categorized as humor, parody, and comedy. Not to mention romance, family, sci-fi and fantasy, for example ;). PICK A GENRE, PEOPLE. NOT TWELVE.

Well, of course fics fit into many different genres. And it's fine if the author likes to tell everyone what they're getting into, I suppose. What bothers me mostly is Drama/Angst and Humor/Comedy. And Mush/Fluff/Romance. Why are these different? The movie industry makes no distinction between Drama and Angst. I've never seen a published short story categorized as Drama. Isn't drama as a genre really supposed to apply to plays/movies and such, anyway? And doesn't most Romance contain what we think of as "mush"? Does the Romance label denote harlequin novel type romance, or does it encompass action-movie-with-a-love-story type romance?
