I've given in to the inevitable and read Twilight. Dammit, I thought I was above enjoying such tweeny angst and over-the-top romanticism of vampires. But lo, it is awesome.

I have no desire to see the movie, though, because it would RUIN THE PRETTY PICTURES IN MY HEAD. Ne?

I don't know why I find the Twilight phenomenon so interesting even though I really dislike the book. I think maybe it's that I know I love lame sappy teen romances A LOT and yet I dislike Twilight and just want to try to rationalize why other people like it and I don't. I happily read every single Meg Cabot book that comes out and own more YA "starter romance" type books than I'd care to admit to... but Twilight really didn't do it for me. Well, okay, Breaking Dawn was hilarious. But if you haven't read it yet, I won't spoil the fun!

Well, I read the spoilers of Breaking Dawn before I planned to read the books at all and I was like "really? ewwww." But I'll deal with that when I get to it lol. I don't know why I liked Twilight, because I really expected to hate it. Opposite of you, I guess XD
