Oh good Lord, how I wish I were in HP fandom. It sounds too dramatic to be true. SW needs such a scandal. But a less scary one. :S

ETA but I guess, come to think of it, the m_a list has had some interesting kerfluffles/trolls. But I think the most dramatic thing to ever happen was when the old list got TOS'd (for reasons unrelated to the list itself, if I remember correctly). Still, nothing compared to your average HP drama.

The thing on CNN about the guy who called AOL to cancel his account and was hassled by the customer service rep ('Can I talk to your dad?') made me recall an experience of last week-- )

Bwahaha, and I just saw a commercial for that "Head On" stuff. Their brilliant advertising strategy is to repeat "Head On! Apply directly to your forehead!" three times in a row, and that's basically the whole thing. I love it.

ETA And I'm still reading through all the HP-ness and have just learned the term "small name fan". Awwww. That's so cute! I'm proud to be a SNF.

Well, this is turning into a long, rambling post, but how many people actually use socks, do ya think? I don't mean, like, icon journals or anything, or well-known pseuds, but actual separate identities (perhaps one fannish, one RL). I have one-- [livejournal.com profile] averi. I used it to get into fandom friends-only places back when I didn't post anything fandomish in this journal. But-- I don't think I was really hiding anything. Is it any kind of a stretch to believe that [livejournal.com profile] averi and [livejournal.com profile] averii are the same person? ;) But is it really so uncommon? Am I a freak, too?
